LUKAS TAIT
BORN 1989 IN TRENTO, ITALY
is a trombonist and composer whose musical journey began at the music school in Salurn, where he first studied recorder and singing before discovering his passion for the trombone.
He later continued his musical education at the CLAUDIO MONTEVERDI CONSERVATORY IN BOLZANO, studying under trombone teacher Igino Ferrari.
Tait’sprofessional musical career began in 2005 with the groups HADERKRAINER and CLUB 99, performing widely across the region. He later joined the ska band SKATARADA, further expanding his musical range.
Alongside his band projects, Tait has remained deeply connected to the Central European brass band tradition.
He has long-standing ties with the MUSIKKAPELLE SALURN and BÖHMISCHE SALURN, while also performing regularly as a guest musician with several other brass ensembles, including FAEDO, MEZZOCORONA, EGGEN, AUER, and LAVIS.
Over the course of his career, he has appeared in MORE THAN 700 LIVE PERFORMANCES.
Between 2006 and 2012 he took part in the renowned XONG COURSE IN MALS, led by the internationally celebrated brass ensemble MNOZIL BRASS, an experience that further shaped his musical development.
In 2013, his band CLUB 99 released an album featuring two of his own compositions, reaching NO. 9 IN THE WORLDWIDE SKA CHARTS.
In 2016 he also composed the official TEAM ANTHEM FOR THE FOOTBALL CLUB FC SÜDTIROL.
A further international highlight came in 2026, when he performed at the renowned CELTIC CONNECTIONS FESTIVAL IN GLASGOW.
This encounter also inspired his composition “THE SPIRIT OF SCOTLAND,” created in collaboration with Scottish musician ROSS AINSLIE, who contributed whistle and bagpipes to the recording.
Today, Lukas Tait focuses increasingly on composing EPIC AND CINEMATIC MUSIC, blending orchestral soundscapes with elements of folk and contemporary film music.
At the heart of his work remains a deep passion for music and the desire to share that enthusiasm with audiences around the world.
